Starting in 2021, the CONTEMPORALIS Association has committed to supporting and promoting contemporary art through an annual award, granted at the conclusion of IN-EDITA, an artistic and curatorial residency program based at Forte Marghera and supported by Galleria Marina Bastianello, Galleria Alberta Pane, and IKONA VENEZIA galleries.
The CONTEMPORALIS PRIZE was therefore established with the aim of offering greater visibility, within the Parisian context, to one artist selected among the finalists, who will have the opportunity to undertake a residency period culminating in an exhibition at the CONTEMPORALIS headquarters.
PRIX CONTEMPORALIS 2023
For the third edition of In-Edita, which took place from June 19 to July 21 and focused on the theme of sustainability, CONTEMPORALIS selected a French artist, Morgane Porcheron, who was supported by the Association throughout the duration of her residency in Italy.
The winner of the CONTEMPORALIS Prize for the In-Edita artist residency is Daniela D’Amore. The artist will have the opportunity to exhibit her work at our office in Paris.
Simone Scardino received a special mention for the quality of his research.
The CONTEMPORALIS Prize was awarded by the jury on the basis of the analysis of the artists’ portfolios and biographies, the development of the residency, the feedback from observers on site, and the final interview.
PRIX CONTEMPORALIS 2021
Daniela Frongia was the first artist to receive the CONTEMPORALIS PRIZE for the In-Edita artist residency, supported by Galleria Alberta Pane, IKONA, and Galleria Marina Bastianello at Forte Marghera (Venice).
